Note: This FAQ deals mostly with the previous S60 version of ForecaWeather, which was provided with a subscription fee. Since December 2010 ForecaWeather Free has been provided without any subscription fees in most channels. Current ForecaWeather Free version is 2.0.1.
Q: How do I get a license for ForecaWeather?
A: ForecaWeather can be downloaded at getfw.com, Foreca's website or at several online stores like Ovi.store.com or Handango.com.
Surf your S60 or java enabled phone to one of the sites listed above to download the application. If you are a first time user, you will get a free trial period (except Ovi store downloads). Test the application before purchase to insure compatibility with your phone. A license can be purchased either via the application itself or from the site you downloaded it from, depending on the version you have. If you purchase it via the site, please take care to make the payment and obtain your license code at the same site you downloaded the application from; otherwise the license code you'll receive might not work in the application.
No separate license is necessary for copies purchased at Nokia's Ovi store
Q: How do I get ForecaWeather back to my phone? I've changed my Phone/SIM/updated my firmware.
A: You should always redownload the application from the same site you originally downloaded and/or purchased it from
Q: I did not get / I have lost my license number.
A: If you purchased the application from an online store, you should have received the code from the site as an email or SMS. Please contact the store.
If you made the payment via the application, the application will be activated automatically without a license code. If the application still provides payment instructions when opened, please choose "Refresh" (under the options menu) and the application will check the database for existing licenses.
Q: How can I add or remove locations from the visited locations -list?
A: In ForecaWeather the last eight locations visited are stored automatically. When you visit a ninth one, the oldest of the eight is automatically deleted. In the latest version (1.4.4) you can also select Options -> Clear history to manually delete all stored history entries
Q: I can't get ForecaWeather to work on my phone, how do I get a refund?
A: For refunds, please contact the distributor.
Q: Isn't ForecaWeather supposed to have animations? How do I enable them?
A: As default Foreca weather only shows static images of radar, satellite and weather maps. You can enable the animations from the options>forecast types menu. Please note that enabling the animations will increase the amount of data ForecaWeather needs to download at each refresh.
